Anthroposophic Medicine

A comprehensive model for integrative medicine at all levels of care

Anthroposophic Medicine brings deeper insights to the care of the whole human being.  It is practiced by conventionally-trained physicians, NP’s and PA’s, who have undergone additional specialized training, learning to apply a broad array of effective natural medicines. This whole-person approach also incorporates art, music, movement and massage therapies as elements of collaborative, multidisciplinary health care.  Founded in central Europe nearly a century ago, Anthroposophic Medicine is now integrated into acute-care hospitals, specialty treatment centers, and university teaching and research programs. Here in the United States, Anthroposophic Medicine has been successfully integrated into centers for chronic illness care and elder care, as well as a large variety of medical practices. Trainings in Anthroposophic Medicine are offered for health professionals in thirty-two countries on five continents. With deep roots and broad applications, Anthroposophic Medicine works to bring health and wholeness into modern life.

    New Chapter in Medical Education
    The Physicians' Fall Retreat

A newly imagined 3½-day immersive learning experience for physicians who want to deepen how they see, think, and care for patients.

Modern medicine rarely gives physicians the time to cultivate some of the capacities that matter most: the ability to observe more deeply, think more broadly, and see the human being more completely.

These capacities can’t be downloaded or outsourced. They develop through experience.

That is why we have reimagined the Physicians’ Fall Retreat, November 5-8, 2026, at Mount Madonna Center in California.

This new 3½-day immersive experience is built around the kind of learning that changes how we practice by changing how we see. Through observation, artistic work, dialogue, and practical application, participants strengthen ways of seeing and thinking that continue to shape patient care long after the retreat ends.

Designed to fit today's professional lives while preserving the richness of in-person learning, this is a completely new educational experience.

While this retreat is grounded in Anthroposophic Medicine, you don’t need previous experience in it. This year's program features a newly developed curriculum, a new educational format, and new opportunities for learning and reflective practice.

IMPORTANT:  Participation is not limited strictly to physicians.  It is intended for licensed medical prescribers.  Practitioners who do not have medical prescribing authority would not be eligible to attend.
