Description

60-day access to recording for the March 13, 2025 webinar: "Exploring Movement, Therapeutic Touch, and Coming into Being through Eurythmy, Rhythmical Massage and Midwifery" Webinar Description: There are many ways that women and families can prepare for pregnancy, birth and the first years of a child’s life. Eurythmy is an art and a therapeutic movement that can benefit mothers and babies in utero and out as they grow and develop. The benefits of touch have long been known and therapeutic touch through rhythmical massage is a gift to the mother and baby both during the pregnancy and after the birth. Midwives have been guardians of mothers and the birthing process since time out of mind. The Anthroposophical Midwifery movement is just coming into being with the intention of holding space for the transition of spirit into matter. Presenters: Lael Stimming is a mother of four children and understands the challenges and struggles faced by parents today. Parenting in the 21st century can be complicated and fraught with doubt and questioning. Lael is a Certified Professional Midwife and a Licensed Midwife in the State of New Hampshire. She holds a BA and is a student in an MFT program. She has studied herbalism, and homeopathic practices as well as Anthroposophical medicine (the medical practice developed by Ita Wegman and Rudolf Steiner). (More about Lael at www.TrinityMidwifery.com) Mary Ruud has taught eurythmy to children and adults for over 25 years, including 12 years at the Urban Waldorf School, and works as a therapeutic eurythmist. She has degrees in Eurythmy from Spring Valley Eurythmy School and the Eurythmy School in Nuremberg, Germany, and a Masters in Liberal Studies from the 21st Century Studies Department at the University of Wisconsin. As an adult educator, Mary teaches for Great Lakes Waldorf Institute, the LifeWays North America Early Childhood Training, and the Waldorf program at the Kentahnten Teacher Training program in Louisville, Kentucky, and Arcturus Teacher Training in Chicago.
